Part 1, Profile overview

To facilitate implementation of electronic commerce in a standardized way, thereby enabling the development of standardized software solutions as well as efficient connections between trading partners without case by case specification of the data interchange, the CEN/ISSS WS/BII agreed to document the required business interoperability interfaces as profile descriptions. The end goal is to reduce the cost of implementing electronic commerce to a level that is economical for small and medium size companies and institutions. This page provides access to the profile descriptions and the transaction data models used, as well as all relevant supporting specifications. The CWA xxxx-1: Profile Overview document provides an overview of the profiles developed by CEN/ISSS WS/BII. It is recommended to read this document before going in to details of any specific profile of transaction data model. This document is formally published as Part 1 of the CWA.

The Profile Architecture document provides the technical specification of the architecture applied as the basis for the development and specification of profiles by CEN/ISSS WS/BII. This document is formally published as Part 1, annex B of the CWA.

The Glossary document provides definition of key terms used within the WG1 deliverables. This document is formally published as Part 1, annex A of the CWA.

The Code List guideline document provides the specification of the relevant code lists used within the transaction data models. The BII WG1 Controlled Vocabulary Approach Recommendations document provides an explanation of our technical approach towards the use of code lists – or controlled vocabularies.

The below table identifies all Profiles and transaction data models published by CEN/ISSS WS/BII. These documents are formally published as Part 1, annex C of the CWA.
